Many people believe that positive thinking takes lots of effort. In the beginning, while you form the new habit, it certainly will take awareness. However, the only way to empower yourself to live Your Very Excellent Life is to live consciously with an awareness of your thoughts.
Of the 65,000 thoughts that flit through your mind each day, 95% of them are the same ones you thought yesterday. Yes, 95%. Why in the world do you do that? The simple answer-most people live in the past or the future, missing the only time that really counts and really that matters-the present.
Most people use the energy they need for today, to keep alive memories from the past or misuse their imagination by carrying past pain into the future as slightly altered experiences. The fears that stop people from living their dreams are really expectation of bad experiences in the future. In other words, many people take their past into the future and remain stuck in life.
One way to look at that habit is to think of a radio. You play your favorite station because you like the music. You find that station by tuning into that station's frequency. Recognize that thoughts are also energy. And thoughts also come to us at different frequencies. Happy thoughts vibrate at higher frequencies, while unhappy thoughts vibrate more slowly.
Thinking happy thoughts, then, becomes a simple matter of tuning into happy thought frequencies as they float all around invisibly through the air. Keep tuning into that station every day. After 28 days you will find yourself thinking differently. You will recognize you now think happy thoughts without making a conscious effort.
Once you form that new happy thought habit, you will attract more happy thoughts and opportunities for enjoyment. Happy thoughts and fun activities already fill the airwaves. You won't have to go looking for new, fun ideas. You will simply plug into them as you now tune into that favorite radio station.
Interestingly, since whatever you focus on expands, while your happy thoughts increase, leading to more happy actions, the negative thoughts that used to comprise your daily living, will fall way and disintegrate.
With little effort you now find yourself to be a positive thinker.
The bottom line is only you can change your life...when you are ready to do so. Change comes from within.
